It is confirmed…Verizon will have the HTC Thunderbolt available for sale this Thursday, March 17th. The Thunderbolt is more than an incredibly fast phone…it’s also the first 4G LTE phone offered by Verizon.
The Thunderbolt has been broadly compared to the HTC EVO 4G, Sprint’s first 4G phone. The devices are similar in size. Both have 4.3-inch, 480×800 pixel displays and have the HTC Sense skin running on Android. Both also have front-facing cameras for video chat and 9MP still image cameras with dual-LED flash.
The Thunderbolt has 8GB of internal storage and comes with a 32GB microSD card for a whopping 40GB of storage for apps and data. That’s as much storage as most netbook computers.
I played with this phone on Verizon’s LTE network two weeks ago and it’s FAST! I’m not sure which is faster: the phone or Verizon’s 4G LTE network. Either way, early adopters of this phone are in for a real treat!
