Top 8 MySpace Tips
by Staff Reports

1. Stop members’ music players from automatically starting when you go to their MySpace page. Go to your account settings, click on the Miscellaneous link, and un-check “Auto-start profile and band music players.”

2. Stop misc. users, predators, and weirdos from asking to be your friend. Go to your account settings, click on Spam, and check the box that says: “Require last name or email address” under Friend Requests.

3. Stop friend request notifications from flooding your email’s inbox. Go to your account setting, click on Notifications, and un-check “Send me email notifications.”

4. Get your new comments sent to your mobile phone. Go to your account settings, click on Mobile, and enter in you mobile # and check “Profile Comment” and any other items you’d like to receive notices via text message.

5. Hide the last time you logged into MySpace. Enter in this code in your “About Me” area:

6. Set your profile to private. Don’t want the world to see? Just go to your account settings, click on Privacy Settings, and choose “Profile Viewable By My Friends Only.”

7. Cancelling your child’s MySpace account. If you can gain access using your child’s username and password, go to Account Settings and then Cancel Account. An email will get sent to the email for the account (the same as the username) in order to confirm the deletion of the account. If you can’t gain access to this email, you can also delete all the content from the MySpace profile, and type in REMOVE PROFILE, which will alert MySpace staff that you want to delete the account. If you can’t gain access to your child’s MySpace login info, you can alternatively go to MySpace.com, click on “Contact MySpace” found at the bottom of the homepage, and alert the company of your wishes to delete your childs’ MySpace account. Be sure to include the address pointing to your childs’ MySpace page.

8. Get a cool template for your MySpace layout. Go to Google.com and search for MySpace templates. Some popular sites that offer these for free include: MySpaceOrYours.net, FreeCodeSource.com, MySpaceMaster.net, TweakingMySpace.com, and many, many others!
